Santa Maddalena villlage - This beautiful real world

When I first saw this village on a calendar some day before,
I got a strong impression -[Too beautiful to be true !]
And I was seized with a strong irresistible impulse to visit
there by all means at a glance on the photo.
I didn’t know at the beginning where it was actually.
The impression having been too strong,
I was then addressing my focus on the photo alone.
I realized later that it was a village located in Dolomiti –
an area of South Tirol of North Italia.
Apcarta is showing that Santa Maddalena is
between Santa Maddallena Alta and San Giovanni :

I just happened to have joined a group tour this time
which include the Santa Maddalena as one of the destinations.
I am not sure if my consciousness did hold the idea
that Santa Maddalena is included in Dolomiti .
In my vague memory I had the name Dolomiti
but I didn’t know what the name meant.
And just before leaving home for the trip,
I had the recognition that the name Santa Maddalena
will be connected with Dolomiti.
How vague and uncertain is the memory of people.
The pictures I took at site seemed as if quite different
from the photo I saw on a calendar.
But the fact was that the photos I took at site
were quite same with what I formerly saw on a calendar.
Speaking from my personal sense,
the pictures I took by myself at site looked different
from what I saw on a calendar.
But the fact was that both of them are just the same.
Speaking of my sense, the real scene seemed a little bit different
from the views taken through a lens of a camera.
I wonder if it is me alone who will feel the difference between the two.
