Japan hardly produces people who could be called as hero. [blog]

You know among us Japanese
we basically find no hero – a great man.

Our emperor might be just one of such exception
but it’s because of our long-lasting history of Japan
as a specific status in our social system.

We do not have a Superman – our society is
made up of just ordinary people as a whole.

Our society does not allow a hero – hero of a baseball player
or Sumo wrestler will be just the outstanding people
who let their fans enjoy their play in such small worlds of leisure,
having little influence on the outside of the small world.

In our world, this expression is available:
[The nail that sticks out gets hammered down.]

We say it in Japanese: 出る杭は打たれる。

Namely, in our society,
we are not permitted to behave as a hero.
People will hit them down.

So, our individual people are short of
their special character or personality.

And, historically speaking, [harmony] will be valued –
we call it [和] in Japanese.

Under the circumstances, I do NOT find among us Japanese
who outstands – although some limitd exceptions to it might be
the famous founders of companies like – Mr. Morita of Sony,
Mr. Honda of Honda Motors and Mr. Matsushita of Panasonic
to enumerate a few because they made Japan a richer country.

Majority of Japanese feel happy by being nobody in our society.
It is what I feel by myself. I am happy just because being nobody.

Nobody will pay attention to you in the city or in train or bus,
just because being nobody. If you become famous, you cannot
walk town freely just as you want. You cannot take a train or bus
as your face is known to everybody.

As such we ordinary Japanese do NOT have an individual face
which might feature them.
