春一番 (1st Spring Gale)

春一番

We had the first spring gale today in Osaka, Japan.

I don’t know if this 1st March will be early or late for the first spring gale.
Naturally it depends on the year when we experience it – according to the statistics
of past years, the strong first wind blew in middle February (at earliest) to middle March (at latest). Speaking from these statistics, the first blowing of this spring will be just average.

In this blowing of today, I feel warmth of the spring.

Spring is now on the corner, although there will be
some return of cold weather (寒の戻り),
just like a cycle of three cold days and four warm days (三寒四温).

We have our Japanese culture to feel the flow of the season.
